come to think of it, they really don’t play up the father-daughter thing between the two of them besides their insanely close relationshipThey do have a side event in the future arc (after the adoption obvs) where Sophie tries calling Asbel “Dad” and Hubert “Uncle Hubert” and wonders about calling Lady Kerri “Grandma,” but Asbel says that it sounds weird if she calls him “Dad” and tells her to just call him Asbel instead. (I’m pretty sure Hubert agrees on this, and iirc both of them tell her not to call Lady Kerri “Grandma.”)
I think the father-daughter adoption thing was more just a hastily thought up formality to get her into House Lhant, and their relationship is more big brother-little sister. Which is no less sweet and wonderful, of course. :)
There is also a drama CD where Asbel is agonizing over how he feels that he’s not ready to be a father, or to be the lord of Lhant. Lady Kerri does tell Sophie to call her ‘Grandma’, and again, Asbel stops Sophie from calling him ‘Father’ because “Ours is… you know, a family that’s kind of like friends.”
